Privacy.

We sell two different kinds of product, and they have genuinely different privacy positions. Lumping them together would misrepresent both, so they are described separately below.

Desktop software you install

Our installed applications — currently Flit — make no network connections at all. No analytics, no crash reporting, no update check and no licence check over the internet. Nothing about how you use them reaches us or anyone else.

Licences are verified on your own machine by checking a cryptographic signature. Your licence key is never transmitted, and there is no account to create.

To do their job, these applications read information about your system — for example, which windows are open. That information stays in memory on your computer, is never written to disk by us, and is never transmitted.

Hosted services

Where a product runs on our servers rather than your computer — Assistio, once released — it necessarily stores data in order to function, including your account details and the content you connect to it. Each hosted service publishes its own privacy notice describing exactly what it stores, why, where, and for how long. Those notices take precedence for that service.

This website

No cookies, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google and Google sees your IP address in doing so. Nothing else on these pages is third-party. Our host keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, briefly, for security and reliability.

Buying

Payments are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd as merchant of record. They collect your payment and billing details directly and are the data controller for that information — see Paddle's privacy notice. We receive your name, email address and country in order to issue your licence, provide support and meet our tax obligations.

Email and support

If you email us we keep that correspondence so we can help you and refer back to it. We do not run a marketing list and do not send unsolicited email.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you may ask what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, object to processing, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Email help@appetised.com and we will respond within one month.
